Yemen government warns Houthi gatherings are ‘legitimate military targets’

The Defence Ministry of Yemen’s internationally recognised government has warned civilians in Houthi-controlled areas against participating in gatherings organised by the group for what it called tribal mobilisation or mass recruitment.

In a statement, the ministry accused the Houthis of using such gatherings, including cultural events, to recruit children and young people to involve them in military activities.

The ministry warned that such gatherings would be considered “legitimate military targets” and urged civilians to stay away from them to avoid putting their lives at risk.
