The US president has spoken to reporters at the White House about the Pentagon’s decision to remove US bombers from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, UK, following a security incident near the base on September 27.
Trump said there were “some threats, and rather than tempting the enemy, we’ll capture the enemy and beat the enemy. But why should we leave them there? So, we moved them around a little bit. Not very far.” He did not specify the nature of the threats, though he has previously linked Iran to the security incident at Fairford.
He said Washington knows who made the threat and “they’ve gotten themselves into big problems”, without providing further details.
