The US is far more involved in the war in Yemen than it officially acknowledges

 The United States is far more deeply involved in the war in Yemen than it officially acknowledges, reports The New York Times.

According to sources cited by the outlet, more than 200 U.S. military analysts and specialists have been deployed to Saudi Arabia; they assist not only in analyzing incoming intelligence but also in selecting targets for pro-Saudi forces operating in Yemen.

In addition, the U.S. Air Force providesaerial refueling support for Saudi warplanes.

  1. A senior American official told Al Jazeera that the U.S. is providing Saudi Arabia with support to counter Houthi attacks. He claimed: "Saudi Arabia is using U.S. refueling capabilities to defend its airspace and assist forces opposing the Houthis. About 200 American advisers are providing consultation at planning centers in Saudi Arabia." The official clarified that the U.S. is not involved in the war in Yemen and added: "We are tightening the siege on Iran, which is suffering economically and feels our pressure, which will continue."
