3 sea drones have attacked another vessel off the coast of Bulgaria, the country’s defense minister, Dimitar Stoyanov, reported

The Liberian-flagged container ship CONTSHIP JET was attacked and struck by three maritime drones within Bulgaria’s Exclusive Economic Zone in the Black Sea.

The attack took place on October 28, 2026, at approximately 12:46 (10:00 UTC), about 16 to 21 nautical miles southeast of Cape Kaliakra.

The incident occurred during a meeting in Sofia of the defense ministers of Bulgaria, Romania, and Turkey regarding security in the Black Sea.

 What happened:
• The attack took place at 12:46 PM, carried out by three maritime drones approximately 21 nautical miles southeast of Shabla, within Bulgaria’s exclusive economic zone.
• Following the strikes, a fire broke out on board; the vessel has developed a severe list to the starboard side and continues to burn.
• The crew has evacuated onto life rafts. A tanker has been dispatched to the vessel to provide assistance.
• Minister of Defence Dimitar Stoyanov confirmed the incident.
