Talks between Ukrainian officials and Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have ended a day earlier than scheduled, with the second day of negotiations cancelled.
Zelensky reacted furiously to the diesel agreement, accusing Washington of using Ukraine’s negotiating delegation as a cover while simultaneously negotiating with Moscow.
He described the agreement as an investment in Russia’s war effort and a betrayal of trust between partners.
The talks also included representatives from European countries and NATO.
The second day of talks was scheduled to focus on a new peace plan proposed by Witkoff and Kushner, intended to help break the "diplomatic deadlock."
However, the Ukrainian delegation departed, and the planned second round of negotiations will not take place.
