U.S. President Donald Trump lashed out on Monday at the leader of the Ukrainia, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, claiming that he "is not helping much" to resolve the conflict and that it appears he has no desire to bring it to an end.
In this regard, he suggested that the time has come for changes in the country's leadership.
"Zelensky isn't doing much to help improve the situation. I don't think he wants to stop it," Trump stated.
"Zelensky is a man who should have resolved this war a long time ago. If he had listened to me, he could have secured a much better deal a long time ago," he remarked. "And, to be honest, I think it is time for someone else to negotiate on behalf of Ukraine," he stated.
These remarks by Trump add to the numerous criticisms he has leveled in recent days against Ukrainian leaders and the head of the Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
