Russia, Ukraine agree to humanitarian ceasefire in Alyoshki - Trump

On October 23, U.S. President Donald Trump highly praised the efforts of his wife, Melania Trump, in securing a humanitarian truce in the  town of Oleshky, in the Kherson region.

"She has managed to do something great," the U.S. president declared. "She has done a great job," he added.

The First Lady and her team worked on "rescuing babies and returning them home to their parents," Trump noted.

"She has worked very hard on this; she wants to see the babies return to their families. [...] And they have been working in a very difficult environment, by the way, and the babies are being exchanged," he said.

"Both sides agreed to temporarily suspend all military action in Alioshki to allow for the entry of humanitarian aid and to prepare for the evacuation of the civilian population via a designated safe corridor," the statement reads.
