Iranian Army spokesman Mohammad Akrami-Nia stated on Saturday that the country's armed forces are closely monitoring developments in the Middle East and are fully prepared to respond to any scenario, the IRNA agency reported.
During an address to the 65th Airborne Special Forces Brigade, Akrami-Nia emphasized that the unit's missions extend beyond the tactical level, yielding strategic effects both domestically and abroad.
Regarding what he described as the "calculations" of the U.S. and Israel, he affirmed that the Iranian Army has consistently bolstered its capabilities and stands ready to face any eventuality.
According to the spokesperson, the Armed Forces and the resistance of the Iranian people have thwarted those plans, which—in his view—were based on the idea that they could dismantle the country's defenses and achieve their objectives within a few days.
He also attributed to Washington and Israel the intention of overthrowing the Iranian government and fragmenting the country, and asserted that none of those objectives have been achieved.
