US Energy Secretary Chris Wright says he expects Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline to resume operations “within days”.
Wright added in an interview with the financial news channel CNBC that he sees the oil pipeline “running again very soon”.
Saudi authorities last week said that flows through the key pipeline – which allowed the world’s top oil exporter to skirt the blockaded Strait of Hormuz – were halted temporarily after a drone attack from Iraq and as the kingdom was drawn into a new front line in Yemen.

US Energy Secretary Chris Wright says that US forces are aiding Saudi oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz as the kingdom diverts supply away from its stricken East-West pipeline.

A video circulated on social media this Tuesday, purportedly showing the aftermath of a Houthi missile and drone attack on an Aramco fuel plant in the Saudi city of Abha, located in the country's southwest. Plumes of smoke can be seen rising over the area in the footage.
