London will upgrade the level of its diplomatic relations with Venezuela and send an ambassador to Caracas, stated Chris Elmore, the British Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
"We will deepen collaboration with Acting President Delcy Rodríguez and her government to advance the United Kingdom's priorities . As part of this approach, the United Kingdom and Venezuela have agreed on their intention to upgrade the level of their diplomatic representation to that of ambassador," the official noted.
He also described this decision as "part of a broader international process of restoring relations" with Caracas.
