The Pentagon and the CIA are holding discreet consultations regarding the closure of facilities and the reduction of the military presence in Middle Eastern countries following a series of devastating Iranian attacks on U.S. infrastructure, CNN reports, citing U.S. government sources.

The damage to key facilities was critical:

CIA base in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia): As a result of Iranian missile and drone attacks, the CIA facility was "virtually destroyed."

Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait: U.S. military facilities sustained severe damage from ballistic missiles and drones. U.S. Admiral Daryl Codell stated that the 5th Fleet contingent "will not return to Bahrain in the near future."
