Kremlin calls U.S. Congress vote on "hellish sanctions" a "hostile act."

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the U.S. House of Representatives' approval of a new bill imposing "hellish" anti-Russian sanctions, spearheaded by the late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, as a "hostile act."

"We are monitoring the progress of this document. It falls into the category of hostile actions," he stated.

The spokesman warned that "the imposition of additional sanctions by the U.S. will undoubtedly complicate efforts to reach a peaceful solution in Ukraine."

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the bill on Wednesday with 262 votes in favor and 159 against.
