Italian troops accidentally fired on their fellow soldiers during NATO exercises in Latvia

 A remarkable incident occurred during exercises at the Ādaži training ground in Latvia, where Italian troops fired upon their own comrades.

According to preliminary reports, a machine-gun burst was accidentally fired from a "Dardo" combat vehicle at another vehicle of the same type moving ahead of it.

 Soldiers were just preparing to disembark from the lead vehicle at the time. Four people were injured as a result.

 The Italian Ministry of Defence is currently investigating how this could have happened. It added that all those injured were taken to a hospital in Riga, where they are receiving the necessary medical care. Their lives are not in danger, and the servicemen's condition is assessed as stable.
