Iranian attacks reportedly caused irreparable damage to U.S. bases in the Middle East

U.S. bases in the Middle East have been "irreparably damaged" by Iranian attacks, and rebuilding them would take "decades," a U.S. service member speaking on condition of anonymity told ABC News.

"If we choose to rebuild them, it will be a task that takes decades," the source noted, specifying that this is not a situation that can be resolved in six months, but rather one requiring "years and years of construction and reconstruction to restore what has been destroyed."

The military official also maintained that the Pentagon is not being transparent about the ongoing conflict. "It is being kept under wraps, and we act as if it’s no big deal, but, you know, there are drone and ballistic missile attacks actively hitting the bases every day," he told the outlet.

On Thursday, the news site MeidasTouch released images showing severe damage at a U.S. base in Kuwait, revealing completely destroyed structures and a reinforced bunker that had taken a direct hit. The facility's airfield was totally destroyed, according to the outlet.
