A column of black smoke is rising near the airport of the Saudi capital, local channels report

 Earlier, a Xinhua correspondent reported from the scene that several explosions had occurred in the northeastern part of Riyadh.

 Prior to this, the Civil Defense service had issued danger warnings to residents on several occasions.

Media outlets noted that these were the first explosions in Riyadh province since the start of the confrontation between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis in mid-July.
