Three Injured as Clashes Continue in Albania

Albania’s Health Ministry confirmed that three people were hospitalized following renewed clashes between protesters and police in Tirana on Sunday.

The injured include a 15-year-old minor, a police officer and a media representative, all reportedly in stable condition.

Confrontations continued near Prime Minister Edi Rama’s office, with protesters reportedly throwing stones and police deploying tear gas.

Albanian authorities have confirmed the discovery of a deceased man near the Lana River in central Tirana.

Police identified the man as a 72-year-old local resident and said preliminary findings suggest he entered the river while intoxicated.

The discovery comes amid days of violent confrontations between protesters and police.

There is currently no confirmed evidence linking the death to the demonstrations or police violence.
