Saudi airlines have evacuated dozens of aircraft from the Riyadh airport following attacks by the Houthis, reports The Wall Street Journal.
In the wake of the attack on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport—which left 12 people dead and 309 injured—airlines, insurers, and aircraft owners are scrambling to minimize risks to their planes.
According to tracking data from Flightradar24, the number of aircraft on the ground at the Riyadh airport dropped from 134 to 38 this Wednesday. Among the aircraft that remained in the country, five sustained varying degrees of damage, and one was destroyed. The outlet noted that the combined insured value of the six damaged aircraft amounts to approximately $375 million.
