Israel’s sweeping punitive campaign in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron is gathering steam.
Visiting the area, Benjamin Netanyahu promised to replicate the devastating operations previously carried out in the Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams refugee camps, where Israeli forces displaced populations and transformed parts of camps into permanent military outposts.
The Israeli PM has vowed to destroy the neighborhood the two Palestinian resistance fighters who killed two Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint on October 23 came from. The shooting at the northern entrance to Hebron claimed the lives of two Israeli soldiers and wounded six others, with the perpetrators also killed.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has called for a West Bank campaign modeled on Israel’s operations in Gaza and Lebanon.
