If the U.S. supposedly has the "mother of all bombs," then Iran has the "grandmother of all bombs." This was stated on October 21 by Ali Zeinivand, an official representative of the Interior Ministry of the Islamic Republic.
"If they [the Americans] have the 'mother of all bombs,' we have the 'grandmother of all bombs'—don't worry," he said, as quoted by the news portal Jsnews.ir
Zeinivand made this remark in response to a CNN article discussing the alleged intention of the U.S. military to use the most powerful non-nuclear bomb in its arsenal, the "mother of all bombs", should strikes against Iran resume.
On the same day, the Financial Times reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had urged Trump to resume strikes against Iran. It was noted that Netanyahu had hoped for his request to be acted upon as early as October 10, but he encountered reluctance from the White House, which sought to avoid further escalation ahead of the midterm elections.
