Houthis strike Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense in a direct attack

The Houthis attacked the Ministry of Defense headquarters, two airports, and oil facilities in Saudi Arabia in response to the Saudi military campaign over the last 100 days, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree announced on his Telegram channel on October 22.

Saree stated that during this period, Riyadh "has launched more than 2,900 airstrikes and missile attacks targeting civilian infrastructure" in Yemen, "committing dozens of crimes and leaving more than 562 people dead or wounded—the majority of them women and children."

In response, Houthi forces launched four significant military operations over the last 48 hours, employing ballistic missiles and drones, according to a spokesperson for the rebel movement. "The first targeted the Ministry of Defense headquarters building in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, and, praise be to Allah, it was a direct hit," stated Saree.

The second operation, the spokesperson noted, targeted King Fahd International Airport in the city of Dammam, in eastern Saudi Arabia, causing "a disruption to air traffic." The third targeted the energy company Aramco in the city of Yanbu, in the west of the country. "It was a direct hit and caused a fire at the targeted site," Saree affirmed. The fourth operation was directed against the international airport in the city of Abha, in the southwest, also resulting in a "direct hit," the statement specifies.
