A powerful explosion has occurred at an ammunition plant in Granada, Spain

Three workers were injured following a powerful explosion at an ammunition plant in the city of Granada, in southern Spain, the Europa Press news agency reported on October 30.

"It was around nine o'clock in the morning when the 112 emergency service received numerous calls reporting a powerful explosion at the plant, located on the Carretera de Murcia in the El Fargue district of Granada," the report states.

The explosion reportedly occurred during one of the tests being conducted at the facility. According to the report, the incident took place in an area designated for the controlled destruction of explosive materials.

Two mobile police units, the Civil Guard, firefighters, and other law enforcement agencies were dispatched to the scene. Medical personnel provided assistance to three individuals, who will shortly be taken to a hospital for an examination regarding potential hearing impairment—though, in principle, the cases are considered mild.

Earlier, on October 28, two trains collided in Spain, resulting in the deaths of at least 68 people. According to preliminary information from El Pais, the primary cause of the incident may have been human error, occurring against the backdrop of a failure in the signaling system.
