The Houthis attacked the King Khalid Air Base in the Saudi city of Khamis Mushait with dozens of ballistic missiles and drones, the Yemeni group announced on Monday.
The group's military spokesman, Yahya Saree, detailed that the operation targeted aircraft hangars, radar facilities, runways, and ammunition depots, among other sites, and stated that the strikes were "precise and direct."
According to the text, the action caused "significant losses" at the base. The statement notes that the operation is a response to "more than 300 air strikes" launched over the past five days by Saudi F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets. It added that these strikes originated from the Khamis Mushait and Taif airbases and hit the majority of Yemeni provinces.
The group also stated that it would continue its military operations deep within Saudi Arabia as long as the offensive and siege against Yemen persist. Furthermore, it warned that any further aggression would be met with "broader and more intense" operations, maintaining a policy of "siege for siege and escalation for escalation" until the aggression ceases and the blockade on the country is lifted.
