US Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has criticised Trump over the duration of the war on Iran, saying it has entered its eighth month despite initial promises.
“Remember when Trump said his war in Iran would last only four to five weeks?” Schumer wrote on X.
“We’re now in month eight, and the American people and our troops are paying the price.”
Schumer said that Senate Republicans had a chance last week to vote to end the conflict, but instead voted to keep it going.
“They are complicit,” he added.
