The French president denied that U.S. intelligence services had alerted Paris about a suspected Russian operation launched from the sea against targets in southern France.
"We can refute that information," he stated.
Macron added that the Italian defense minister had not received such information either.
The denial follows a report published by the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, which alleged that US intelligence had shared information with the governments of Spain, France, and Italy regarding potential sea-launched drone attacks utilizing merchant vessels in the Mediterranean.
